Eksportfinans has been a borrower in the US domestic market since the early 1980s. The institution's Debt Shelf under US legislation provides the ability to raise funds either through domestic private placements or global bond issues where, unlike Eurobond transactions, bonds can be sold to US-based investors.
The Shelf was filed on February 5 2007 (unlimited size) and is primarily designated to the Eksportfinans USMTN program. The program is listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
